In a revolving door the volume between the wings works like an air lock: the entrance stays closed even while people are passing through. Why a revolving door?

The clearest benefit of a revolving door is that the entrance is never fully open at any moment. Because the compartment between the wings behaves like an air lock, the indoor environment never meets the outside air directly: heat loss, dust and noise are reduced, and no draught is felt in the lobby. That becomes decisive at entrances where a seating area or a reception desk sits just inside the door.

How many wings?

  • Three wings: the compartments are wider, giving more comfort for people with luggage
  • Four wings: sealing is higher, so it stands out at entrances where heat loss is critical
  • Two wings (large diameter): the best layout for wheelchair and goods traffic
  • The number of wings and the diameter are chosen according to daily pedestrian numbers, facade width and climate needs

Accessibility and safety

  • A sliding or swing door is planned next to the revolving door for wheelchairs, stretchers and large loads
  • Wing edge and drum sensors detect a person during passage and slow or stop the door
  • In an emergency the wings fold away to leave a full-width evacuation opening
  • Speed, hold time and night position are set from the control panel
