High-speed door, shutter, or both at once?

PVC high-speed doors are designed for indoor traffic: they are very fast and forgiving of impacts, but because the curtain is flexible they serve no security purpose. A conventional shutter, on the other hand, is there to close the facade outside working hours; it is not built for the tempo of frequent opening and closing during the day. The high-speed shutter sits exactly in between: its body is made of aluminium slats and its motor is selected for high cycle counts. If only speed is needed, a PVC high-speed door stays more economical; if only night-time security is needed, our shutter systems do.

What does spiral winding add?

• The slats never touch one another as they wind, so friction and noise drop markedly
• With less wear, service life is extended under high-cycle use
• The smaller winding diameter is an advantage where lintel headroom is limited
• The paint and coating on the surface stay intact for far longer

Where does it make a difference?

• In car parks: faster entry and exit means shorter queues and less waiting
• On the external facade: the longer the door stays closed, the lower the heat loss and dust ingress
• At dealerships and service centres: fast daytime transit and physical night-time closure together
• In emergency response garages: exit time is critical, so speed is a function in itself

The slat type, the winding arrangement and the motor class are determined by the opening size, the daily cycle count and the wind exposure of the facade. During the survey we measure all of them together and choose the right configuration with you.
