Get to know the gate first

  • Gate type: is it sliding (tracked) or swing?
  • Weight: metal cladding and solid panels are far heavier than expected.
  • Ground: slope, the flatness of the track and drainage affect the motor load directly.
  • Use: 10 openings a day and 100 openings a day require different motor classes.

Points to watch on sliding gates

Track cleanliness and the condition of the wheels come before the motor. A worn wheel keeps the motor running in overload and leads to failure in a short time. Correct alignment of the rack gear is also decisive for a long service life.

Safety equipment is not optional

Photocells, a flashing beacon and force limitation settings should be treated as mandatory, particularly in areas with children and pets. A manual release key for power cuts must also be present.

The power of the motor should be enough not simply to move the gate, but to move it without straining it.
