ZIP Screen Systems
An outdoor screen that stays taut and never leaves its rails in wind
A conventional outdoor blind flaps in the wind, its edges come out of the rails and it wears out quickly. In a ZIP screen the zip profile welded to the fabric edge travels inside the side rails, so the screen stays taut in every position. That makes an open area usable for a far longer part of the year.

What makes a ZIP screen different?
The difference is at the edge of the fabric. In a ZIP screen a zip-shaped profile is welded along both sides of the fabric, and that profile travels in a channel inside the side rail. Because the fabric is held by its edge both while opening and while closing, the wind cannot pull it out of the rails and the middle does not sag. Since it is exactly this flapping that causes most of the wear in conventional blinds, the ZIP system is both more durable and still usable on windy days.
Micro-perforated fabric or transparent PVC?
- Micro-perforated (screen) fabric: cuts sun and glare while keeping the view and the airflow; the standard for summer use
- Transparent PVC: blocks wind and rain completely and extends terrace use into winter; planned together with heating
- Mixed arrangement: transparent PVC in the lower section and micro-perforated fabric above
- The darker the fabric, the better the glare control; lighter colours keep the interior brighter
Motor and sensors
- The tubular motor is controlled by remote, wall switch or phone
- The wind sensor retracts the screen automatically above a set wind speed, protecting the system and the fabric
- The sun sensor raises and lowers the screen according to the light on the facade, balancing the indoor temperature
- Several bays can be operated together as a group with a single command
