GKT Door

Survey & Consulting

Everything starts with the right measurement

The survey is the cheapest stage of the job, yet the one that shapes the outcome most. Half an hour spent on site removes the whole cost of a wrong product choice, of surprises on installation day and of structural alterations carried out later.

Survey & Consulting

What do we look at during the survey?

Taking measurements alone is not enough. So that the door runs trouble-free for years, we also put the surrounding conditions on record.

  • Opening width and height — from at least three points, with the narrowest reading taken as the reference
  • Lintel headroom and the free clearance on both sides — this is what determines the system type
  • Floor flatness, drainage channels and level differences
  • Daily cycle count, vehicle type and shift pattern
  • The temperature difference between the two environments, plus humidity and dust levels
  • The position, cross-section and earthing of the power supply line

What happens after the survey?

Once we are back from site, we bring the measurements and observations together and send you a written quote, usually within 48 hours. The quote shows the product, the installation, the safety equipment and any structural alterations as separate line items, so you can see exactly what can be changed and where.

Consulting: asking the right question before selling a product

Sometimes the right answer is not a new door. Servicing the existing system, replacing the motor or adding safety equipment may be enough — and when that is the case, we tell you so. A long-term working relationship is built on exactly that.

HOW WE WORK

Four steps from request to handover

  1. 01

    Request

Reach us by phone, WhatsApp or the form, and we will route your request to the right team.

  2. 02

    Survey / diagnosis

For a new system we take the measurements; for an existing fault we diagnose it on site.

  3. 03

    Execution

Installation, maintenance or repair is carried out on the planned day and time, without stopping production.

  4. 04

    Check & handover

Safety devices are tested, user training is given and the area is handed over clean.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

About Survey & Consulting

Do you charge for the survey?

No. The survey and on-site measurement are completely free of charge, and you are under no obligation to accept the quote.

How long does a survey take?

For a single opening, 20–30 minutes is usually enough. On projects with a large number of doors or a loading dock area, it can extend to a few hours.

Is there anything I need to prepare before the survey?

No. It is enough to tell us what the door will be used for and how heavy the daily traffic is; we take care of the measuring.
